Mise collects no data.
Your recipes, notes and photographs are stored in a single file on your own device. Mise has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing about how you use the app is recorded or transmitted.
The one thing that leaves your device
When you paste the address of a recipe web page, Mise fetches that page so it can read the ingredients and steps. The page is read on your device. The address is not logged, stored, or sent anywhere other than to the site you asked for.
Photographs and PDFs are read entirely on your device and never leave it.
Nobody else is involved
Mise contains no third-party software development kits — no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising network. Its source has no external dependencies at all, so there is nobody to share data with: no data, and no arrangement with anyone.
Three things that might look like collection
Reading a photograph or a PDF. Handwriting and printed text are read by the operating system's own on-device recognition. The image is never uploaded, and it is not sent to any service for processing.
Exporting and sharing. When you export recipes or back up your library, iOS asks you where to put the file. You choose the destination and Mise keeps no copy of what you chose.
Archived pages. A recipe fetched from the web keeps a copy of the page it came from, so it still works when the site is gone. That copy is stored in your library file, on your device, like everything else.
Your recipes are yours
The library is one ordinary file you can copy off the device at any time, using Tools ▸ Back Up the Library. There is nothing to request from us and nothing to delete from us: uninstalling Mise removes the app and its file from your device, and that is the whole of it.
Children
Mise is rated 4+ and is safe for any age. Since it collects nothing from anybody, it collects nothing from children either.
Changes
If this ever stops being true, this page will change before the app does, and the date at the top will say when.
